About

My name is Carly, I’m from Washington but moved to Kentucky in 2010. Right now I am working on a horse farm in Lexington and it has been a really surreal experience. I graduated the University of Louisville in May 2014, and don’t really know what to do with my life now.

Horse racing is my favorite thing, been a fan of it since 2004 thanks to Smarty Jones and went to Emerald Downs as much as possible once I got into it. For two years I was a tour guide at the Kentucky Derby Museum, and worked as a BETologist at Keeneland for the Fall 2014 meet and had a ton of fun with both jobs. One of my favorite things in the world is teaching people about the sport I love so much so figured starting a blog would be pretty fun.

  1. Carly Kaiser: I’ve written a book, “Black Deuce,” and would very much like to forward a copy to you. “Black Deuce” is available in ebook or print. Read it, enjoy it and mention it in your blog.
All the Best, Stan D. Jensen

P.S. The Rockingham Park piece you did was heartbreaking, the photos haunting.
